New Australia Post notifications

Australia post have recently made some changes to the automated delivery notifications sent to customers. The net effect is that the information given to the customer is a bit more timely and a bit more detailed. (This was partly done as a result of the Coronavirus impacts on delays to parcel delivery.)

It simply works like this;

EMAIL 1 - We’ve got your delivery details

A new email notification will be sent to customers when Australia Post has confirmed receipt of the manifest. This will be the first notification they receive regarding their item.

This does not necessarily mean Australia Post has received the item, but it will let the customer know that they are aware of it and they will receive further notifications when it’s on its way.

EMAIL 2 - It’s on its way

These notifications have been updated to include information about

delivery delays and references to the Coronavirus impacts page on

auspost.com.au

EMAIL 3 - It's coming today

This email let's the customer know the delivery should occur on the same day as the email.

EMAIL 4 - Delivered

This email is sent after a confirmation of delivery (or pick-up) has occurred. If an authority-to-leave the parcel in a safe place is given, this email will notify the customer that it has been placed in a safe location.
